Penn Del Fall 2016 Meeting

Teams Not Represented: Central Bucks & Lansdowne.
Allentown Application: Motion for Allentown YMCA to join the Penn Del League was approved unanimously.
Spring Meeting Minutes: Spring minutes approved with one correction.
Financial Report: Elliot reported for Pat that last year's budget closed with a $600 surplus. He then went over the current budget that was passed at the Spring Meeting. The in the current budget includes a line item that was for the purchase of Meet Manager 6.0 for each team and that Pat needs names and addresses to send the checks. The financial report was approved.
Scheduling: Erik reported there were changes, due to some teams changing divisions. The schedule is finished and posted. If there are any further changes, it must be approved by both coaches and the commissioners notified.
Commissioners: Jenn reported that one of the most common problems were the rosters (due Nov.4). She then explained how to do it. She reminded them that swimmers must be rostered 8 days prior to swimming live. Rick reported that TeamUnify rosters must be changed to TM files. Rick also reported that the templates will be updated with CH and District times. Please use the correct template. Changes in the schedule must be approved by both coaches and sent to the commissioners. Rick also went over meet verification procedures. He also reminded everyone that the AO and Meet Referee must attend a Penn Del referee or AO clinic or class. He also emphasized that only coaches may follow the procedures to protest. He then explained how to correct a time.
Championships: Carl reported the teams that submitted successful bids: Reading-Washington, Boyertown-Adams, Bloomsburg-Monroe, North Penn-Madison, and Lansdowne-Jefferson. All entries for the championship meets will need to be submitted electronically. The swimmer's names need to be in two weeks early (for MA validation). The updated times need to be in by 5:00 P.M. the Monday prior to the meet.
Charlie Hartley: Mark reported that Ridley will again host back at the GCIT. The entry deadline is Feb. 20 and the meet is on Feb. 25. The qualifying times will be posted shortly.
Officials: Bert reported that there are three types of officials (stroke and turn, Referee, and AO). Penn Del requires referees, Meet Manager operators, and AOs to attend an annual clinic. All Penn Del classes are yearly. Bert also reported that all scheduled clinics are listed on the website.
Website: Tom reported that everyone should be registered on the website. Information is sent out in two methods: 1. Team Reps and Coaches, 2. All others. He also AGAIN emphasized that coaches need to make sure contact info is correct and complete. He then listed all the parts of the website that coaches can use and all the national websites as well.
Y Regional Rep.: Mike Gobrecht reminded coaches that competitive swimming is the largest program in the YMCA. He also said coaches need to communicate with their executive director and keep them informed as to what is going on in your program. There are 84 YMCAs in Pennsylvania (the most in the U.S.). He then went over He went over YMCA National Team and Coach Registration.
League Calendar: Elliot reported on the League Calendar and encouraged League Coaches to use the calendar and to encourage your parents to become familiar with it. He also reminded coaches that rosters are due November 4th (whether you have a meet the first week or not).
Recognition: Lou was congratulated for being a Paralympic coach at the past Paralympic games in Brazil.
